Deflazit is prescribed for the treatment of various conditions, including:
Adults:
- Acute conditions: Up to 120 mg/day may be required initially. Maintenance doses generally range from 3-18 mg/day.
- Rheumatoid arthritis: 3-18 mg/day; use the lowest effective dose and increase if necessary.
- Asthma: Acute attacks may need 48-72 mg/day, gradually reduced after symptom control. Maintenance doses should be adjusted to the lowest effective dose.

- Nephrotic syndrome: 1.5 mg/kg/day, taper as needed
- Asthma: 0.25-1.0 mg/kg on alternate days
